SUMP PUMPS

If your home is supplied with a sump pump make sure it is plugged in at all times.  You can get ground water into the sump basket, even in the wintertime.  Some homes do not get any ground water in the baskets and others will run off and on continually.  If your pump is not running and you want to test it, put 10 gallons of water in the basket when the pump is plugged in and it should start.  If it doesn’t make sure that you have elec., power to the outlet that the pump is plugged into.

DO NOT reduce the size or bury your sump discharge on the outside of your home.  If this is done, it will void the warranty of the pump.
