LIGHTING YOUR WATER HEATER PILOT 

If the pilot goes out it is the homeowner’s responsibility to re-light it.  The instruction for lighting the pilot are on the front of the water heater.  They are very safe to re-light, if the instructions are followed.  We suggest that you buy a barbecue lighter to help you reach the pilot, to re-light it.
